Frequently asked questions
Which documents should we send first?
To start: the offer or purchase documents you have received, a register extract or other registration document for the property, the seller’s identifying details, and the draft contract if there is one. The documents determine what needs to be checked, and with whom.
How is the local lawyer chosen?
Where advice under local law is needed, it is given by a lawyer licensed in the relevant country, and the firm coordinates the work with that lawyer. You receive the local lawyer’s details and terms of engagement directly.
Who is responsible to you?
The local lawyer is responsible for acts carried out under local law. The firm is responsible for its own advice and for coordination between the parties. Each one’s role is set out in its written engagement agreement with you.
